Media Center - IR hardware

Has anyone had luck with Media Center finding rieht IR hardware? I have a USB-UIRT and it reports that it can't find it. So, I can only tune to channel 3 (I have a set top box), and then use the remote from the box to tune. Vista found the driver for it and installed it. I also have the driver myself. I've tried it both ways.

If you have had luck, what IR hardware do you have and erehw can I get it?
